Steps look wrong or have stopped
Open Settings in Walk Together, check the selected step source, then choose Sync my steps. Completed minutes are synced, so the newest steps may take a little time to appear. Check the permission for your chosen source if steps remain unchanged.
Apple Health can return no steps without telling the app whether read access was denied. If you switched sources, the totals are not added together. Each new physical step counts once. Older earned crew bonuses remain in lifetime history. Active routes start counting from their selection time.
Notification settings
Choose notifications in Settings to enable them and select progress updates or crew milestones. If iPhone permission is off, use Open iPhone Settings. Quiet hours skip updates rather than collecting a queue to send later.
Notifications depend on your connection, iPhone settings and when progress reaches the game server. They may arrive later than the walk itself. Opening the app syncs your steps and displays the latest progress.
The destination or distance looks unexpected
The map shows your virtual journey, not your current GPS location. Each country route has a saved published distance, converted using an estimated 75 cm per physical step. Route places never require a physical check-in.
You can browse other destinations during a journey. Replacing a destination discards progress toward that destination after confirmation; joining a crew keeps your personal routes.
Keep your saved progress
Use the same sign-in account after an update. If changes are still waiting to sync, keep the app installed and try again when connected. Signing out and deleting an account are different actions.
If account removal is unavailable or a removal message remains, keep the app installed and report the message. Do not repeatedly create a new account to recover an old adventure.
Reporting an issue
Tell the developer what you were doing, what you expected, what actually happened and approximately when. For a step issue, include whether you chose iPhone steps or Apple Health. Share app details below to include the version and iOS version.
For TestFlight installations, Apple’s TestFlight feedback tools can attach a screenshot to a report. Check any image before sending it. Do not send passwords, verification codes, crew invite codes or your full Health history.
